My Ratings and Reviews
For the most part I try to keep my reviews quick and to the point without spoiling anything. I hate when people spoil a movie for someone who hasn’t seen it. I’ll give you my opinion of what I liked and disliked about the film, discuss who did a good job at what and give you my rating.
I like to post a preview and pictures of the movie that I reviewed to give you the opportunity to see for yourself if you think a movie looks good or not. You may not agree with my review, but that still gives you the option to develop your own opinion of whether or not a movie looks like it is worth seeing or not.
My rating system is a scale of 1-10. I do not give out too many 10s. A 6 is a watchable movie. Anything below a 6 becomes questionable.
There are all different genres of movies. You cannot compare one genre to another genre equally. If I give a kid’s movie an 8 rating, that 8 rating will not be the same 8 rating that an action movie gets. They are both completely different types of movies. It is not an apples to apples comparison.
My mood or state of mind can often affect my rating of a movie. I might watch a movie for a second time in a completely different state of mind and have a slightly different opinion of that movie the second time around. That may cause me to change the rating of that movie. Sometimes movies get better with time and sometimes they get worse. The best movies are often the ones that you can watch over and over again and you like them the same. Like a fine wine, sometimes movies get better with age while others just get old.
