Netflix Watch Instantly Movie Reviews January 2014
Netflix Watch Instantly has drastically improved its movie selection over the last few years. They still have more movies that are available to rent on disc than they do to stream, but if you do a little bit of searching then you will be able to find plenty of good movies that are worth streaming.
I have seen literally hundreds of movies that are currently available on Netflix Watch Instantly and literally thousands of movies that are currently available to rent on disc.
I have been writing movie reviews for a year now, but I have been mainly focusing on reviewing newer movies. Because of this fact, I have not reviewed very many movies that are currently available on Netflix Watch Instantly. I plan on fixing this problem soon.
I will continue to update and add to the list below throughout the month of January, and make a new list each month. My lists will hopefully help you find good movies to watch and bad movies to stay away from. I will hopefully be able to help save you time searching for a good movie to stream on Netflix Watch Instantly. My reviews will tell you what are some of the best movies available on Netflix Watch Instantly and what are some of the worst movies available on Netflix Watch Instantly.
The Netflix Watch Instantly movie library changes periodically as their contracts with different movie companies run out or are renewed. Here is a list of movies that I have reviewed that are currently available on Netflix Watch Instantly. Click on each title below for my full review of that movie, my rating, the movie’s trailer, the movie’s poster, and pictures from that movie:
Yes, the list is short now, but as the days and weeks and months go by, I will have plenty of more reviews for you to read and I will help you find the hidden gems within the Netflix Watch Instantly movie library.

Trailer for RoboCop (2014)
Posted by Brock Winspear
RoboCop (2014)
When I first heard about this reboot of the original RoboCop (1987), I just had to laugh. Hollywood continues to run out of ideas and therefore they continue to recycle old ideas. I disagreed with this remake at first, but after seeing the trailer, I changed my mind. Obviously technology has come a long way in the last 27 years and that could help to make this RoboCop better than the original.
The film takes place in Detroit in 2028. A cop (Joel Kinnaman) gets badly injured and is fixed up with robot parts in order to function again. OmniCorp is the company responsible for putting him back together again. Instead of simply doing the bare minimum to put the cop back together, OmniCorp decides to go all out and make this part man, part robot a supercop. The result is RoboCop.
The film is directed by Jose Padilha and the rest of the noteworthy cast includes Abbie Cornish, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Jay Baruchel, Jackie Earl Haley, Miguel Ferrer, Aimee Garcia, Michael K. Williams, and Zach Grenier.
The film looks sort of like a cross between Dredd (2012) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991).
This new RoboCop has a better cast than the original and far better technology to work with. The deck is stacked in favor of this reboot being better than the original. It is bound to have tons of good action and awesome special effects.
The film is set to release on 02/07/2014.

Trailer for The Purge (2013)
Posted by Brock Winspear
The Purge (2013) (click on the title for my full review)
I’m not sure that I agree with this concept, but it will definitely be a controversial movie. It will be interesting to see how this movie pans out. How could you end a movie like this?
The film looks like it will probably be pretty brutal. It would really be a scary world to live in if all crime was legal for one day out of the year. I don’t think that would solve any of the world’s problems.
I’m not sure if this would be classified as a horror movie or a thriller. Probably a thriller.
Ethan Hawke continues to choose eerie and gritty roles.
The movie looks intense, but I’ll totally have to see it.
Lena Headey co-stars. You might recognize her as the bad woman from Dredd (2012)
The rest of the cast is hardly worth noting. It seems like the majority of the cast includes actors who have had very small roles in movies and are not popular. You probably would not know who I am talking about if I listed anybody else in this movie.
It is written and directed by James DeMonaco and produced by the people that brought you Paranormal Activity (2007) and Sinister (2012).
The film is set to release on 5/31/13.
