Russell Crowe stars as Noah in director Darren Aronofsky‘s take on the story of Noah’s Ark.  I shouldn’t have to say anything else to spark your interest.

The rest of the noteworthy cast  includes Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Ray Winstone, and Kevin Durand.

The Truth About Emanuel (2013)

The Truth About Emanuel is a movie about a girl (Kaya Scodelario) who becomes infatuated with her new neighbor (Jessica Biel) because she strongly resembles the girl’s dead mother.

The film was written and directed by Francesca Gregorini and the rest of the noteworthy cast includes Alfred Molina, Aneurin Barnard, Frances O’Connor, Jimmi Simpson, Sam Jaeger, Anne Ramsay, and Spencer Garrett.

The movie looks like it could be delightfully twisted.

The film is set to release on 01/10/14.

Trailer for Hours (2013)

Hours Poster

Hours (2013)

Paul Walker keeps making basically one-man independent movies.  At least this one looks better than Vehicle 19 (2013).

The film is about a man (Walker) who desperately tries to keep his premature newborn baby daughter alive during Hurricane Katrina.

The movie was written and directed by Eric Heisserer and the rest of the noteworthy cast includes Genesis Rodriguez, and Nick Gomez.

The film is set to release on 12/13/13.

Trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

X-Men Days of Future Past Poster

X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)

I have always been a fan of X-Men.  My favorite X-Men movies are X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and The Wolverine (2013).

In the new film, X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is sent back in time in order to try to change the past and prevent a horrible future.

The movie was directed by Bryan Singer and the rest of the noteworthy cast includes Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Anna Paquin, Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Ellen Page, Evan Peters, Nicholas Hoult, Peter Dinklage, Shawn Ashmore, Bingbing Fan, Daniel Cudmore, Lucas Till, Booboo Stewart, Omar Sy, Adan Canto, Josh Helman, and Thai-Hoa Le.

I love movies that have to do with time travel.  X-Men movies have been better in recent years, and this one, once again, has a great cast.  This should prove to be a recipe for a fun and enjoyable movie.

The film is set to release on 05/23/13.

Trailer for Neighbors (2014)

Neighbors (2014)

If you liked the movie This is the End (2013), then you might enjoy the upcoming film, Neighbors.

Neighbors is a comedy about a couple with a newborn baby who get stuck living next door to a fraternity house.

The movie was directed by Nicholas Stoller and the noteworthy cast includes Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Dave Franco, Zac Efron, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Lisa Kudrow, Chasty Ballesteros, Jake Johnson, and Bobby Moynihan.

I’m not a huge fan of Seth Rogen, but for some reason I continue to see his movies.  This is the End certainly had its moments.  Neighbors looks like it could at least be good for a few laughs.

The film is set to release on 05/09/14.

Trailer for Labor Day (2013)

Labor Day Poster

Labor Day (2013)

Labor Day is a movie about a single mother (Kate Winslet) and her son who take in a wanted fugitive (Josh Brolin) and hide him in their house.  After a while the fugitive becomes part of the family, but the police are quickly getting closer to finding the man.

The film was written and directed by Jason Reitman and the rest of the noteworthy cast includes Tobey Maguire, Clark Gregg, Dylan Minnette, James Van Der Beek, and Gattlin Griffith.

I don’t think I’m going to have to rush out to the theatre to see this love story of sorts, but it does look worth watching.  You usually can’t go wrong with Brolin or Winslet.

The movie is set to release on 01/31/14.

Trailer for Winter’s Tale (2014)

Winter’s Tale (2014)

A burglar (Colin Farrell) falls in love with a woman (Jessica Brown Findlay) whose house he was going to rob.  After she dies, he finds that he has the power of reincarnation and he tries to bring her back to him.

The Film was written and directed by Akiva Goldsman and the rest of the noteworthy cast includes Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Will Smith, William Hurt, Eva Marie Saint, Kevin Durand, Matt Bomer, and Graham Greene.

This does not look like your average love story.  It is a story of reincarnation as almost a form of time travel.  The idea is intriguing and the cast is excellent.  I think I’ll have to check this one out.

The movie is set to release on 02/14/14 (Valentine’s Day)

Teaser Trailer for The Raid 2: Berandal (2014)

The Raid 2: Berandal (2014)

If you are a fan of The Raid: Redemption (2011), you will want to check out this teaser trailer for the sequel called, The Raid 2: Berandal (2014).  If you are an action movie fan and you have not yet seen The Raid: Redemption, do yourself a favor and just go out and buy it.  You will not be disappointed.  Simply click on the title for my full review.

The plot of the sequel is unknown, but the trailer looks like it all continues where it left off.  If the sequel is half as good as the first film, it will be worth seeing.

The film is written and directed by Gareth Evans and the noteworthy cast includes Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian, Raiden Integra, Donny Alamsyah, and Tio Pakusodewo.

The Raid: Redemption blew me away, and I have seen tons of action movies.  The sequel promises to be quite entertaining.  I can’t wait!

The film is set to release on 03/14/14.

Trailer for I, Frankenstein (2014)

I, Frankenstein Poster

I, Frankenstein (2014)

If you don’t know the story of Frankenstein, then you have probably been living under a rock your whole life.  Frankenstein (1931) is as classic as a movie can be.  There have been countless remakes and rip-offs of this legendary film.

I, Frankenstein takes the iconic character, Frankenstein, and throws him into a story that is so different from the original that it is a travesty in filmmaking.  Sometimes, I understand the need to remake a film, but when you remake a classic, it is better to pay homage to the original instead of dragging its name through the manure behind your high horse.  It appears like this is exactly what Hollywood has done with Frankenstein.

Somehow, the film tells the story of how Frankenstein (Aaron Eckhart) gets caught up in a war between two groups of immortals.  Did I mention that the war has gone on for hundreds of years?

The movie was directed by Stuart Beattie and the rest of the noteworthy cast includes Yvonne Strahovski, Bill Nighy, Caitlin Stasey, Jai Courtney, Miranda Otto, Kevin Grevioux, Viginie Le Brun, and Aden Young.

As much as I like Aaron Eckhart and Frankenstein, this movie just looks like a monster that should not be unleashed on the public.

The film is set to release on 1/24/14.

Trailer for Charlie Countryman (2013)

Charlie Countryman Poster

Charlie Countryman (2013)

Shia LaBeouf continues to accept darker, riskier roles.  Rupert Grint appears like he is trying to shy away from Harry Potter-like movies.

The movie is about Charlie Countryman (Shia LaBeouf), a man who falls in love with a woman who seems to already be taken by an aggressive criminal.

The film is directed by Fredrik Bond and the rest of the noteworthy cast includes Evan Rachel Wood, Mads Mikkelsen, Rupert Grint, Melissa Leo, Vincent D’Onofrio, John Hurt, and Til Schweiger.

The movie appears like it will be pretty violent and twisted.  The trailer doesn’t give away too much, but It looks like it will be pretty intense throughout.  With a cast like this one, I think that it should be good enough to see in theatres.

The film is set to release on 11/15/13.
