Happy Birthday to John C. Reilly
Posted by Brock Winspear
Happy Birthday to John C. Reilly! The goofball actor turns 48 years old today.
The first movies that I remember liking Reilly in were What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? (1993) and Days of Thunder (1990).
Days of Thunder was the first PG-13 movie that I remember seeing. I was 4 years old and I remember my Mom and Dad bringing my siblings and I to the theatre to see that movie. It is the first movie that I remember hearing cussing in. It’s very strange to me because I remember watching that movie in the theatre like it was yesterday. That was already 23 years ago. I remember my parents trying to cover my ears after hearing “son of a…”
John C. Reilly started his career with more serious roles, but in more recent years he has become known for his crazy humor in such films as Anger Management (2003), Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (2006), Step Brothers (2008), and The Dictator (2012). Later this year, he will be joining Will Ferrell in Anchorman: The Legend Continues (2013).

I have updated the list based on all the movies that are currently available to rent at the Redbox as of 5/9/13. They will change some of the titles weekly, but the list should still be pretty accurate for a while and hopefully be able to help you find a good movie to rent. I have included the DVD covers and previews. If a movie doesn’t have a cover or preview above it, simply click on the title for my full review of the movie along with the poster artwork and preview.
I do not claim to have seen all of the movies that are currently available at the Redbox, but I have seen 82 of them. Of those 82 movies, here is the list of my top 13 Current Redbox movies:
2. What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993) My Rating: 9
3. Ted (2012)
4. Silver Linings Playbook (2012)
6. The Dark Knight Rises (2012) My Rating: 9
11. Looper (2012) My Rating: 8.5
12. Titanic (1997) My Rating: 8.5
These movies in my opinion, are the best movies that are currently available at the Redbox.
Newcomers Silver Linings Playbook, The Impossible, and Jack Reacher have knocked Flight (2012), Sinister (2012), and Lincoln (2012) off of the list. The other movies continue to hold strong.

I have updated the list based on all the movies that are currently available to rent at the Redbox as of 4/21/13.
I do not claim to have seen all of the movies that are currently available at the Redbox, but I have seen 77 of them. Of those 77 movies, here is the list of my top 13 Current Redbox movies:
1. Django Unchained (2012) My Rating: 10
2. What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (1993) My Rating: 10
3. Ted (2012)
4. The Dark Knight Rises (2012) My Rating: 9
8. Looper (2012) My Rating: 8.5
9. Titanic (1997) My Rating: 8.5
11. Flight (2012)
12. Sinister (2012)
13. Lincoln (2012)
These movies in my opinion, are the best movies that are currently available at the Redbox.
Django Unchained has taken over the number 1 spot. Both The Machinist (2004) and The Raid: Redemption (2011) are no longer available to rent at the Redbox and therefore they have vanished from the list. Newcomers Hitchcock and Lincoln have knocked Moneyball (2011) out of the park and off of the list. The other movies continue to hold strong.
