Happy Birthday to Harrison Ford
Happy Birthday to Harrison Ford! The actor most famously known for his part as Hon Solo in the original Star Wars Trilogy turns 71 years old today.
Ford can credit his popularity and huge movie career to George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, the men responsible for making him famous. Lucas wrote and directed all of the Star Wars films. Spielberg directed and Lucas wrote all of the Indiana Jones films (the other movies that ford is most known for).
After Lucas and Spielberg made Harrison Ford a household name, he went on to have a very successful career.
Ford has 3 major films releasing later this year: Ender’s Game (2013), Anchorman: The Legend Continues (2013), and Paranoia (2013).

Happy Birthday to Sylvester Stallone
Happy Birthday to Sylvester Stallone! The Italian Stallion turns 67 years old today.
When I think of Sylvester Stallone, I think of his characters Rocky Balboa and John Rambo. Balboa is from his 5 Rocky films, beginning with Rocky (1976) and Rambo is from his 4 Rambo movies, beginning with First Blood (1982).
In more recent years, Stallone has gathered together his fellow aging action heroes. They have all banded together to form The Expendables trilogy. The Expendables (2010) started it all. The Expendables 3 is planned to release in the summer of 2014.

It appears as if old age is not going to slow down Sylvester. He is 67 and he continues to make action films. This October he will be trying to break out of prison with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Escape Plan (2013). This Christmas Stallone will be boxing Robert De Niro in the film Grudge Match (2013). The Italian Stallion vs. The Raging Bull. That promises to be a Christmas present worth waiting for. My money is on Rocky.

Happy Birthday to Eva Marie Saint
Happy Birthday to Eva Marie Saint! The famous actress turns 89 years old today.
She is most known for playing the leading lady opposite Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece, North By Northwest (1959). In real life, Grant is 20 years her senior.
I find this picture fitting considering it’s the 4th of July.
Eva Marie Saint has been making movies and television shows for the last 66 years.
Cheers to you Eva!
Happy Birthday to Meryl Streep
Happy Birthday to Meryl Streep! The actress turns 64 today.
Many consider Streep to be one of the greatest actresses of all time. She is not my favorite actress by any means, but I have enjoyed many of her films.
My favorite Meryl Streep films are Marvin’s Room (1996), Before and After (1996), and The Manchurian Candidate (2004).
Streep has been nominated for an Academy Award 17 times and she has won 3 times. She won an Academy Award for Best Actress for Sophie’s Choice (1982) and also for The Iron Lady (2011). She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Kramer vs. Kramer (1979). She has been nominated for an Academy Award more times than any other actor.
R.I.P. James Gandolfini
Rest in peace James Gandolfini!
The actor most known for playing tough-guy Tony Soprano in the television series “The Sopranos” passed away today of a heart attack while vacationing in Rome, Italy. He was only 51 years old.
My favorite Gandolfini movies are True Romance (1993), Get Shorty (1995), and Lonely Hearts (2006).
Most recently he has had parts in Killing Them Softly (2012), Zero Dark Thirty (2012), and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2013).
He made the film Violet & Daisy (2011) in 2011, but the film has yet to be released. It may have had limited release on 5/3/13, but it has yet to be available in my area.
James Gandolfini with be missed. He always brought a ton of energy to his characters and really knew how to make his presence known. That presence will live on in all of his films and television shows for many years to come.

Happy Birthday to Clint Eastwood
Happy Birthday to Clint Eastwood! The legendary actor/director/producer turns 83 years old today.
Not only is Eastwood one of the greatest actors of all time, but he is also one of the best directors out there. Not including television shows or documentaries, Clint has acted in 60 films, produced 30 films, and directed 32 films. He has also been involved in composing music for 7 films. Eastwood has shown us that he can pretty much do it all when it comes to moviemaking.
I have seen the majority of Eastwood’s films. He has made so many great movies that my list of favorites goes on and on.
My favorite film that Clint Eastwood produced and directed but did not star in is Mystic River (2003).
Besides “The Man with No Name” Trilogy (A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)), my favorite Eastwood western is High Plains Drifter (1973).
I’m not going to list them all, because as I said, the list goes on and on. Some of my other favorite Eastwood movies are In the Line of Fire (1993), Million Dollar Baby (2004), Gran Torino (2008), and Blood Work (2002).
Just writing about these Clint Eastwood movies makes me want to have an Eastwood movie marathon. I might just have to do that one of these days. That would be a marathon of awesomeness.
Thank you for a lifetime of phenomenal films Clint!
Go ahead, make my birthday!
