Going to the Movies in Paris
Posted by Brock Winspear

I went to the movies in Paris the other day…
I ventured to St. Michael Cinema 15 in St. Michael, Minnesota for the first time, finally. It’s a beautiful theater made up to look like Paris, France. The lobby is gorgeous!
Apparently, they have a 70 foot “Eiffel Screen” that is supposed to be pretty awesome. Hopefully I will be able to experience a film on that screen in the future, as I will certainly be returning to that theater in the near future.
They have free refills on any size soda and popcorn. They have a bar and restaurant on the second floor.
The front few rows inside of the theater that I was in had the cozy reclining seats. The back half of the theater still had nice upright seats. It was good to have the option, and I’m sure that way they are able to fit more people in each theater. The big recliners take up a lot of space in theaters and cuts back on the amount of seats in each theater.

Overall, it was an impressive theater and I had fun checking it out. I should’ve taken more pictures. I just wanted to share this with you because I thought it was pretty cool.

Please Vote For Which Movie I Should See and Review Tonight
Posted by Brock Winspear
Please take one second out of your day to vote for which movie I should see tonight. I’ll write a review afterwards and have it up in time for the weekend.
You can help influence one of my next reviews. Which movie would you like to see me review? Please cast your vote below.
Thank you to everyone who voted. There was a 3-way tie, but American Hustle got the most votes first, so I decided that would be the tie breaker. I’ll have my review for American Hustle (2013) up tomorrow. Thanks again for participating!
I just got back from the movie and I noticed that I got more votes. I appreciate everyone who voted, sorry the late votes didn’t count. Click on the link below for my full review:

Happy Birthday to Nicolas Cage
Posted by Brock Winspear
Happy Birthday to Nicolas Cage!
The famous actor turns 50 years old today.
Although he and his career have basically imploded and taken a nosedive in the last 7 years, Nicolas Cage is still one of my favorite actors of all time.
Unfortunately he has disgraced us all with the absurdity and awfulness of The Wicker Man (2006), Ghost Rider (2007), The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (2010), Season of the Witch (2011), Drive Angry (2011), Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011), and The Frozen Ground (2013).
However, let us not forget the jewels that he has bestowed upon us with:
Lord of War (2005),
The Weather Man (2005),
National Treasure (2004),
Matchstick Men (2003),
The Family Man (2000),
Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000),
Bringing Out the Dead (1999),
Face/Off (1997),
Con Air (1997),
The Rock (1996),
Leaving Las Vegas (1995),
Kiss of Death (1995),
and Raising Arizona (1987).
The man can still act. Every once in a while he gets his act together and creates something that is reminiscent of the Nicolas Cage of old. I still watch his films with a shimmer of hope because one day he could turn it all around and return to greatness. One day he just might make his comeback. He is not getting any younger, but 50 years old is something to celebrate. Happy Birthday Nic and thank you for the excellent movie watching experiences!
